Had I never been born I think my parents would have broken some record for the world's most traveled couple. My dad likes to gloat and take credit for my passion for travel. His words: "Who would you be had I not given you the gift of travel?" Between you and I, he deserves a little credit (honestly speaking…a lot of credit.) My dad is not modest when it comes to his wealth of travel experiences. He has circled the globe twice and he never fails to mention that he did it with only $2, a pack of cigarettes, and a spare t-shirt. For me, family road trips lead to studying in Spain, which lead to an insatiable desire to globetrot, which lead to a steady paycheck. Soon I found myself with a Master’s degree from Cornell, which meant my paycheck was as long gone as the ice age. Now I like to consider myself a well-traveled YUPPIE. The definition “young urban professional” seems to fit the bill. My strength is my desire to try new things. New experiences have lead to my knowledge of the world's best offerings. I am saddened by the commercialization of travel and hope to shine light on the world’s hidden gems. Enjoy!
